There are several ways to get to the makerspace. We recommend the use of public transport or personal mobility devices like escooters, bicycles, etc. due to our inner city location. Our address is 35 Balaclava St, Woolloongabba, 4102. Our front door is a roller garage next to a red building - look for our small blue sign. If you have a motorbike, scooter, bicycle or similar, you can park anywhere inside or on the driveway as long as you don't block the walkway.

We recommend that you use Google or Apple Maps and enter "Brisbane Makerspace" as your destination. Select public transport and you'll see the best route from a combination of train and bus options.
The closest train station is Boggo Road or Buranda. Buranda is slightly closer but Boggo Road has more train options - check Google/Apple Maps for the best route. There are also lots of nearby bus stops with frequent services. If you can't use Apple or Google maps, we recommend the official Translink Journey Planner.
Note: Woolloongabba train station is not open yet, but has been included on the map for future reference.
There is lots of space around our driveway and just inside the main entrance. Please don't block the public foot path or the entrance. If you have a bike or moped, this is a great option.
There is limited on-site parking available to members only, as per our parking policy (very limited and often not available).
For members of the public, or members' guests, we recommend parking along Balacava St. Be careful of the clearway times and parking restrictions explained below. Park up the end near the culdesac to avoid the clearway times or 2h daily limit.
Most of Balacava St is a clearway during morning/afternoon peak hours (7-9 am and 4-6pm). Check street signage carefully before parking on the street.
We fall within the council's "Gabba Parking Area". This means that between 7am to 7pm Mon-Fri, a 2 hour limit applies to all street parking that doesn't have a sign. Learn more on the council website here.
This is the explanation from the council website:
A two-hour parking limit is in place between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. Unless there are signs stating otherwise (e.g. No Stopping, Bus Zone, Taxi Zone), all motorists can park in this area for up to two hours. When events are being held at The Gabba a 15-minute parking limit is in place between 7am and 10pm on the day of the event. If a parking sign applies to a particular location, the days and times displayed on the sign override the Gabba Traffic Area parking restrictions. All motorists can park in spaces signed ‘P No Limit’ for longer than these parking limits.
